Release Day!

Release day has come and my science fiction/romance novella, Blue Galaxy, has finally been released into the wild. May it wander far and wide, finding love and adventure everywhere it goes. Many thanks are owed to Carina Press for taking me on and especially to my editor, Kym Hinton, for all her hard work and tactful advice.

An extra special thank you goes to Claire Gillian. She knows why!

Back when I was a bookworm girl I always imagined writers as eccentric, reclusive types. Some of us are like that, it’s true, but in today’s world it is far more likely that writers are all over the internet socializing, helping and encouraging each other. I know I’ve had a lot of help along the way from the community of writers. Check out my blogroll for just a few of them. Why, I was recently saved from an imminent stroke by my release day buddy, Maria Zannini. And she did it all via e-mail. What a woman!

Mostly today, though, I’m thinking of my mother-in-law. She died last year and I know today would be such a proud day for her. As a lifelong voracious reader of romances, mysteries and wide-ranging non-fiction, she would be so happy to see another one of her clan reach publication. She read my early attempts at writing; she told me I could do it. And I believed her. For this reason and many others I am proud my book bears her name. Thank you, Mary Dooley.
