Love In A Cold Climate

Here in my part of the world, winter is on its way and it’s time for the AW November Blog Chain.  This month’s prompt is:
NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month (not affiliated with the real NaBloPoMo).

Write up a back cover blurb for a book you have written or would like to write. It should be short, sweet, yet give a sense of people and events without totally spoiling the ending. NaNoWriMo participation is not required, and the blurb may be for fiction or nonfiction as you see fit.

I’m not participating in NaNoWriMo, but I am writing another book. This one is short, sweet, sexy and stuffed with some of my favorite things about winter in the Catskills: roaring fires, reading binges, snow shoeing, snuggling under piles of blankets and much imbibing of hot alcoholic beverages. Here’s my blurb:

* * * * *

Lindy Hopkins works early, works late, always gets the job done and never, ever has incredible one night stands with handsome coworkers. Until that night. But it’s okay. She’s just going to keep on pretending that it never happened.

Alex Anderson never imagined that buttoned-down workaholic Lindy had the ability to transform into a table-dancing, champagne-guzzling femme fatale. Until that night. And it’s not okay that she’s been giving him the coldest of shoulders ever since.

Neither are prepared to face the other, but they have no choice. They’ve each booked the company Catskill cabin for a few days before Christmas and are both too stubborn to budge. Over mulled wine and under a blanket of snow, it’s starting to look like that night might happen all over again. But this time Alex is playing for keeps, while Lindy is determined that no man comes before her career.

    What about that man that comes WITH the career? Eh?

    🙂

    Nice. Even though I’m not into romance stories. I mean I like romance in my stories but not the whole thing. Still I think I like them both. For once its the guy who really wants the relationship.

    Dammit, Diane. Why is there no pre-order button at the bottom of this post? 😉 Please let me know when it’s out. Thank you.

  10. Gates says:

    Well-written blurb! Seeing something like that would make me want to buy the book just to find out…and I’m not even into romance novels!

    Most excellent. I don’t read romance, but even I am intrigued to see some sparks fly before opposites attract!

    Fantastic blurb! Tightly written with a hint of the humor I suspect comes through in the story.
